Obviously, Nick Diaz isn't the sole UFC celebrity who is like he is able to miss from media activities. USA TodayA( viaAMMA Junkie) reports that Anderson Silva is being fined $50,000 for lacking a scheduled appearance in La, where in fact the pound-for-pound MMA titan was expected for a of UFC 162 interviews. As UFC president Dana White told the press, Silva "just decided" to miss out. That leaves many news and sports sites in the L. A. area without access to the UFC's middleweight champ, whose appearance was set to correspond with future solution on-sale dates later in the week: "We had a complete media time create for him in Los Angeles, and he just decided he didn't want to do it, so he's being fined $50,000," UFC President Dana White told USA TODAY Sports and MMAjunkie.com. "He doesn't like speaking with the media, but it is part of his contractual obligation," White said. "Everybody wants more money, more money, more money, but no body wants to offer the fight or speak with the media and venture out. Talking to the media is element of your job, whether you want it or not." Such behavior appears strange for Silva, who is broadly speaking known to be an excellent attendant for most UFC media functions and fighter events. On top of that, the $50,000 good is just a significant quantity of Silva's exposed purse money. Only last July, he produced $200,000 for his UFC 148 title defense against Chael Sonnen, which displayed a great win-or-lose paycheck. However, Silva is generally thought to produce much more money than what is on the books, because of discretionary money, PPV rates and rewarding sponsorship money from backers like Nike and Burger King. Media appearances aside, Silva isn't expected to skip the real UFC 162 event. That battle takes place in Las Vegas onAJuly 6 at Las Vegas' MGM Grand Garden Arena, where Silva will guard his UFC subject against undefeated top competitor Chris Weidman.
