4-Star LB Otaro Alaka Spurns Colorado A&M, Commits to Texas

Another day brings the news of yet another motivation for the Texas Longhorns, and now there are several major in-state effects. Based on Max Olson of ESPN.com, 4-star outside linebacker Otaro Alaka has focused on Texas, choosing the Longhorns on the Texas A&M Aggies: The Houston Cypress Falls outside linebacker committed to Texas on Monday night, picking the Longhorns over Texas A&M. He turned devote No. 13 in Texasa 2014 recruiting school and the Longhorns' fifth new commitment previously 10 days. "It feels good to become a Longhorn," Alaka said. "I just want to thank God first of all and just thank my instructors, parents and teammates for everything. Like I was prepared to pick Texas I just felt. They have a great people, great setting and great academics. I just really liked their coaches." It is no solution that Texas A&M has compromised the status and hype away from the Longhorns both on the subject and in recruitinga'at least in regards to college basketball in their state of Texasa'and in-state recruiting has become critical for both plans. For Texas, that statement is intensified thinking about the current lull this program has fallen into. There was a when it was confirmed that the Longhorns would at least be a key player for elite in-state employees, but that time has come and gone. Mack Brown's system is driving a serious trend of recruiting momentum. Alaka's commitment represents Texas' 13th commitment to the 2014 type, 12 of those promises originating from in-state employees. It's still acutely early, mind you, but it's worth noting that Texas' 2014 course is ranked No. 1 over all in the 247Sports Composite team ranks, accompanied by Texas A&M, Florida, LSU, Florida State and Ohio State. That's elite company to be in, and there's no questioning the fact that Brown gets the Longhorns back on course at the very least when it comes to recruiting. There is the required time for items to change, but so far, so good for Texas.
