I was sold by nasri: Arsenal for the money - ESPN.co.uk

Samir Nasri has charged Arsenal manager Stan Kroenke of selling him to Manchester City because he 'needed the money ', in remarks which can be more likely to further stress his already fraught relationship with his former employers. System boss Arsene Wenger often insisted he was under no pressure to offer Nasri to City for A24m in August 2011, even though the French midfielder had just one single year left on his Arsenal contract. However Nasri has offered up a differing version of events, in an meeting with French TELEVISION channel beIN Sport that has been interpreted by many British newspapers. "Wenger explained that if Cesc (Fabregas) left, I would stay but Kroenke wanted the money," Nasri was quoted as stating by the Daily Mirror. "Cesc was already gone, I had just one year left so I chose to leave. "I do not have misgivings. I do not regret joining Manchester City. I want to play and conduct. My departure from Arsenal is purely for sporting reasons. Whenever you review Arsenal and City, it is not the same. With City I'm playing in a better group. I did maybe not keep for money. "I only regret not having more discussions with Arsene Wenger when I left. Arsene Wenger is the greatest instructor I have caused. He made me the ball player I am. I'm very grateful." Nasri's remarks appear certain to be challenged by Wenger, who has long believed he's in sole charge of transport plan at Arsenal and insisted at the time that the sale was 'logical' presented the player's refusal to agree to a fresh cope with the club. Meanwhile, Nasri admitted he's allowed his form to fall this year, as he taken care of immediately comments from Manchester City employer Roberto Mancini that he 'want to give him a punch ' after his lacklustre shows lately. Nasri suggested he rejected the claims by Mancini that he wasn't giving his all in training sessions and turned in his most impressive exhibit of recent weeks in the 4-0 win against Newcastle last Saturday. "I am aware that I've not had an excellent season," he explained. "There are several factors, however when Mancini stated that I am teaching at 50%, this isn't correct. I felt comfortable against Newcastle. It is been a little while since I felt good." Nasri went on to ignore reports connecting him with a summer move to Paris Saint-Germain or Monaco.
