Newcastle dropped at St James' Park to Sunderland for the first time for almost 13 years and Pardew admitted that the beat has injured the whole team. The defeat closes the gap between Newcastle and Sunderland to two-points and both parties have five activities remaining in the Premier Leagues year. Neither Newcastle or Sunderland are mathematically safe from relegation and following the defeat to Sunderland, Pardew said that his side must be sure they get over the defeat quickly. Alan Pardew said: "I don't believe it is actually not likely to affect the remainder of our year, a beat like this. "We only have to ensure that in these last five games we put that right. "It is all about people putting activities onto the end of this year that help to alleviate the memory of this defeat." Newcastle United next face West Brom at The Hawthorns but will soon be without goalkeeper Tim Krul for the rest of the plan after his shoulder was dislocated by Krul in the fit with Sunderland.
