Former Toon striker Nile Ranger has today been ordered to handle community service for approaching his partner Nile Ranger Former Toon striker Nile Ranger has today been requested to undertake community service for attacking his lover. Magistrates also requested that the ex-Newcastle United player handle his 'gambling issues' and suggested he find assistance with his 'relationship issues. Newcastle Magistrates Court heard how a 21-year-old grabbed his companion of 3 years, Shakira Bicar, by the hair and pulled her down the street, away From Gate nightspot, in Newcastle. The victim was out with a work associate on the night of March 13 when Ranger started bothering her with repeated phone calls. While she and her pal were in Tiger Tiger and then the former Newcastle United star turned up in town. Justin Gibson, prosecuting, defined that Miss Bicar, who still lives at Ranger's home in Forest Hall, North Tyneside, never made an issue about the attack. But witnesses watched as he attacked her and shouted 'aggressively' at herA in the street. Mr Gibson said: "Mr Ranger was heard talking on his cellular phone saying; 'I am going to seize her.' He grabbed her shoulder and then went over. She kicked him in the leg. Then pulled her by the hair and pulled her with power to the door of The Gate carpark." Witnesses said Miss Bicar was yelling, 'log off me' as she was being drawn by the footballer. Police were termed by passers-by and Ranger was caught. When officials talked to his lover in the road she said she had some 'pain in her neck.' But she has never made a statement in regards to the assault. Ranger was charged with popular assault and pleaded guilty at his first court appearance. Geoffrey Forrester defending explained that Ranger regretted his actions and accepted that his conduct has cost his profession to him at Newcastle United. He also said the footballer would relish the opportunity to do customer service as it would give the chance to him to give something back to town. "He regrets his conduct and apologises for his behaviour," he explained. "Community support is some thing I'd welcome. He'd just like the chance to accomplish that. His career can not be resumed by me until the summer and it would give the chance to him to give some thing straight back and re-pay a number of the possibilities he is had. "He is had to keep Newcastle United Soccer Team. It was not anything he wanted to do. He is brought it on herself. he accepts that and needs to access it together with his life. He's wanting to be able to resume his career." The court observed that Ranger and Miss Bicar had rekindled their relationship since the event. Ranger was sentenced to a 12-month community order with seven months direction and 120 hours unpaid work. Part of his guidance includes getting consultant help to address gaming issues and chair of the table Chris Robinson told him he should seek help with his 'connection issues.' He was also ordered to cover A85 court costs and a A60 target surcharge.
