Defender set to return - EatSleepSport

Tottenham are keeping a close eye on left back Danny Rose, who they sent to Sunderland on loan at the start of the season.

The Black Cats have taken Rose to their hearts and were looking into the possibility of doing a permanent deal for the defender in the summer but Spurs may have decided to take him back to White Hart Lane.

Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas has apparently decided to allow Benoit Assou-Ekotto to leave in the close season and has previously said Rose will be returning to the club after monitoring his progress over the past few months.

Sunderland may be planning a big-money move but, unless they come up with around £8m, then Rose could be heading back to north London.
