Texas Cowboys 2013 Draft: The Great and the Negative

The Dallas Cowboys have covered up the 2013 NFL draft, introducing eight players (four on offense, three on defense). Let's review what exactly took place for Dallas at Radio City Music Hall Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Pick rundown Circular 1 (31 ): Travis Frederick (C, Wisconsin )Round 2 (47 ): Gavin Escobar (TE, Hillcrest State )ARound 3 (74 ): Terrance Williams (WR, Baylor )Round 3 (80 ): J.J. Wilcox (S, Georgia Southern )Round 4 (114 ): B.W. Webb (CB, William & Mary )Round 5 (151 ): Joseph Randle (RB, Oklahoma State )Round 7 (185 ): DeVonte Holloman (LB, South Carolina) Most readily useful pick:ADeVonte Holloman They saved the most effective for last. Holloman had no business lasting to the sixth round, but Dallas benefits. The versatile, natural opponent is strong in coverage and is actually a long-term solution at the strong-side linebacker spot. He is an excellent guy to possess growing behind Justin Durant, Sean Lee and Bruce Carter. Other picks I liked: B.W. Webb, J.J. Wilcox Webb is adequate to become this team's next spot, which concerns in the NFC East. Plus, he could have a huge influence in the get back game. Wilcox looks like he will have an opportunity to start, despite playing security just one year at Georgia Southern. Worst pick: Gavin Escobar I will never understand the thinking behind having a small end here. I know the scouts are better than I am, but this just does not add up. Jason Witten and James Hanna are a wonderful duo. A blocker is needed by them (like John Phillips), not another pass-catcher, if such a thing. Different recommendations I did perhaps not like: Travis Frederick, Terrance Williams Paul is a good addition to the inside of the offensive line, but he must have can be found in Round 3. Williams is a respectable addition to the getting corps, but the Cowboys had bigger needs, and I believe he was a reach in the next round. Left to address: right tackle, defensive tackle, defensive end I really expected the Cowboys to draft someone to contend with Doug Free, nevertheless now the force is really to sign Eric Winston. When they don't, we'll be seeing Free again on the proper side. They also have to address that aging defensive point, specially with Anthony Spencer maybe not signed longterm. That will be the target next year at this time.
