Tottenham Hotspur Tranfers: Strong Objectives for Andre Villas-Boas This Summer - Bleacher Survey

Aged only 35, Andre Villas-Boas has completed more than most managers can in their whole career. From landing the head coach position of the British Virgin Islands national team when he was just 21, to winning the a of Primeira Liga, Portuguese Cup and Europa League with Porto 12 years later, the only uncharted territory for the Mourinho understudy remains the Champions League. Of course there was the short-lived aChelsea Projecta, where Villas-Boas did manage to take Chelsea out of the party point before being relieved of his duties several days later, but there was always the feeling that AVB had certainly one of Abramovichas heavies hanging over him when it stumbled on choosing the team. A little over a later and Villas-Boas reaches Tottenham, where he's the freedom to build a group without the interference of a meddling owner, and on top of that, a reasonably generous exchange budget. Despite losing sight of this yearas Europa League quarter-final on penalties to Basel, a competition that the Portuguese certainly had a view to win, there's a sense that this is simply the start. If Spurs may drive either Arsenal or Chelsea out of the Top Four by mid-May, the only dalliance with the Europa League they have is likely to be an undesirable irritation, due to removal from the big table. Because next time, at least AVB expectations, is focused on the Champions League. There has to be considered a significant shake up at White Hart Lane, if Spurs are to attempt their second strategy in Europeas elite opposition. AVB is a man who requires time to improve his team, easing out the old guard for small, forthcoming skill, and in Daniel Levy he's a chairman who, whilst not without his faults, gives that same will to win and has a budget to back it up.
