BBC comedian in Man City kit arrested for trying to loosen up with the team... - Yahoo! Sports (weblog)

(@AntonyEvans_98) Prior to Manchester City's 2-0 loss at Everton on Saturday, a BBC comedian wearing a City kit was arrested for attempting to loosen up with the group. Simon Brodkin of the BBC Three display Lee Nelson's Well Good Show was in character as imaginary Premier League footballer Jason Bent and wearing full City package (filled with "Bent 9" on the rear) and warm-ups. He somehow managed to get on the message at Goodison Park as City started before the match, complicated participants and ultimately get escorted absent by security personnel (pictures here). The BBC report on the problem conveniently leaves out the fact Brodkin works for them: A man wearing a Manchester City kit tried to warm up with the group at a fit. He went onto the message at Goodison Park in Liverpool as City's players started due to their champions' [sic] Premier League match against Everton. Stewards discovered he and him was led away by security staff. Merseyside Police said a gentleman from London was arrested on suspicion of frequency encroachment and is going to be questioned later. Police attention was previously attracted by brodkin during a stunt as his Lee Nelson character in which he attemptedto shoplift his or her own DVD and was chased by an artificial cop only to be arrested by an actual cop before confusion was solved. Given the fact that City ended up losing to Everton even though the hosts were paid off to 10 men when Steven Pienaar was sent off in the 61st minute, maybe they should've let Brodkin play. Here is a sample of the Jason Bent identity in more helpful confines... During the corresponding fixture between Everton and Man City last period, a man handcuffed herself to the goalpost to protest a budget airline.
