The interim Blues boss addressed the media today in his first Press conference since his stunning rant on Wednesday night.
"If we stick together behind the team it will be easier for us to get points. I think the fans are really important for the team.
"The atmosphere against Napoli, or this year against Arsenal — it makes a big difference when you have everybody pushing and pushing. That was my idea. I think my message is clear.
Benitez said: "Yesterday I was with Ron, today I was with Ron. He was saying 'it's a cold day and you are wearing shorts'. We were joking.
But the former Liverpool boss today backtracked and added: "It's not an issue now. In my head, I am the manager. I have to manage the team.
