Stoke City: Steven Nzonzi critique unfair, says Tony Pulis - That is Staffordshire

TONY Pulis thinks Stoke star Steven Nzonzi has been unfairly pilloried after he fled a red card for severe conduct last week. Nzonzi was just scheduled after pressing Fulham striker Bryan Ruiz in the face area a' and as the umpire saw the incident he couldn't be further tried retrospectively. a Steven Nzonzi has his nose examined all through Stoke City's game against Fulham. Pulis said the offence could not be condoned, but could be defined, since a broken nose had been suffered by Nzonzi within an earlier in the day incident involving Dimitar Berbatov. "If you go through the incident (with Berbatov) he does get caught," said Pulis, described. HURRY...OFFER ENDS SATURDAY 2nd MARCH.........A50 off when you spend over A350 on a wedding ring. "Steven was a bit annoyed. In the event that you look at Steven's face, he is taken a right hit on his nose. He was in a lot of pain. "His reaction wasn't great, but there's probably reasons why the reaction was not good." Nzonzi's broken nose, which will require minimal corrective surgery on Monday, saw him have a mask fixed ahead of today's battle with West Ham at the Britannia (3pm) when he'll risk the proposition of his team-mates. "It is around Steven whether he wears it," Pulis added. "He may determine it is not for him. But if it does be worn by him, understanding our lot he'll get hammered." Whatever his cosmetic dress this morning, the 24-year-old Frenchman will be locking horns along with his old Blackburn boss Sam Allardyce as both Stoke and West Ham side nearer to the original 40-point protection target. Pulis sought Allardyce's advice during a long courtship before finally getting Nzonzi after Blackburn's relegation last summer. And the signing has paid dividends, with the midfielder being Stoke's most correct passer this year. "Sam was great in his report of Steven, having caused him," Pulis remembered, "and I am aware that if he could have taken him to West Ham he would have done. That's the biggest compliment he can pay him. "We have been looking at him at Blackburn for 18 months, from when Sam was there, but we could not bring it off. "But there was a big change, a weakness if you want, and ideally we struck at the best time. "He is theoretically a better player than he was. Actually, he's got all the qualities, and he does exceptionally well in the air." STOKE'S game at Newcastle next week-end has been confirmed as a kick-off on Sunday, March 10 after the game was put straight back 24-hours due to Newcastle's Europa League commitments on Thursday.
