The school recruiting process puts an exceptional amount of pressure on secondary school athletes, especially those most abundant in talent and brightest futures. It's enough pressure to lead to hurried decisions, and to know about fanfare that straps unrealistic expectations on 17- and 18-year-old athletes.
Andrew Wiggins hasn't let any one those factors affect him as he prepares to be able to announce his college choice. For a player with increased talent than any recruit from this year's class, the nation's top prospect certainly hasn't made way for the bright lights so that you can rush his decision.

There has been no lack of speculation for media and fans. The draw of programs like Idaho, Kansas and Kentucky can't be overstated, and the upside of joining any of the three is tremendous—national titles together with a top selection in the NBA draft springs to mind.
But Wiggins hasn't allowed some of that to affect their focus. It would be all too straightforward to make his decision your national spectacle. It's much more complicated remaining humble and unpretentious when confronted with such publicity.
In this, Wiggins has affirmed what many already believe about the highest recruit: He deserves a persons vision, but he isn't looking for it, and he won't let the brisket change who he is usually.
By avoided the indigenous spotlight—even after months involving speculation—Wiggins is proving why he should be thought about more than just a high recruit. He's doing that right, and whichever program handles to secure his commitment are going to be much better off as it.
