Tim Wiggins Making Right Decision by Remaining out of the Spotlight.

The college recruiting process puts an exceptional amount of pressure on high school graduation athletes, especially those with more talent and brightest futures. It's enough pressure to cause hurried decisions, and to be familiar with fanfare that straps unrealistic expectations on 17- in addition to 18-year-old athletes.

Andrew Wiggins hasn't let any one those factors affect your ex as he prepares to help announce his college destination. For a player a lot easier talent than any recruit within this year's class, the nation's top prospect certainly hasn't left the bright lights to rush his decision.

Based on Wiggins' former high higher education coach, Rob Fulford, that Huntington Prep star will announce his decision Might 14 at 12: 15 l. m. ET:

Even after months of speculations and build-up to his judgement, Wiggins is choosing to hold the announcement low-key and out from the spotlight.

The 6'8" forward hasn't had to find publicity. In fact, he's done a massive job avoiding it whenever possible, keeping the focus on the things which matter most—family, friends and making the proper decision for his long term.

It's not easy deflecting that types of attention. The fact he has remained humble and rooted proves she's already making the perfect decisions; what follows is usually secondary.

Wiggins is supposed to choose between Kansas, Kentucky, New york and Florida State—the last of which being considered the probably option given his familial link with the school (per Jeff Borzello of CBS Sports).

Your forward's parents both joined in Florida State, his father to play basketball and his mother to jog track. With family ties (which are obviously important to the 18-year-old) and his apparent preference to avoid the spotlight whenever you can, there's a good risk Wiggins dons a Seminoles head wear when he makes his ultimate decision.

There has been virtually no lack of speculation for media and fans. The draw of programs like North carolina, Kansas and Kentucky can't end up overstated, and the upside of joining many of the three is tremendous—national titles in addition to a top selection in the NBA draft one thinks of.

But Wiggins hasn't allowed any of that to affect her focus. It would be all too easy to make his decision some sort of national spectacle. It's much more complicated remaining humble and unpretentious in the face of such publicity.

In this, Wiggins has affirmed what a multitude of already believe about the most notable recruit: He deserves the interest, but he isn't on the lookout for it, and he won't let the brisket change who he can be.

By avoided the state spotlight—even after months with speculation—Wiggins is proving why he should be thought about more than just a top recruit. He's doing the idea right, and whichever program is able to secure his commitment shall be much better off correctly.
